When BW People interviewed Archana Jayaraj, they discussed talent acquisition struggles in India and the skills gap that hinders operational efficiency.

In the interview, Archana explains that the skills gap in the Indian workforce is a complex problem that stems from various factors, such as the gap between theoretical and practical education, the fast pace of technological change, the uneven quality of education across regions, and the demographic challenges.

She said: “Apart from technical skills, employers today are also looking for workers with soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving. Many workers lack these soft skills, which is also contributing to a skills gap."
