> Beginning the mthree training
“I got the opportunity to interview for mthree, and I was determined to give it my best shot and fortunately, I got selected.
The training experience was incredible and very industry-focused. While I did learn a lot during university, much of it was rooted in theory. It helped me develop problem-solving skills and logical thinking, but this training allowed me to apply those skills in real-world scenarios. From the very beginning, the training felt practical and hands-on, which made it incredibly valuable.
Having always aspired to work in the fintech industry, I found it fascinating to explore the actual tools, technologies, and use cases being used across the sector. One of the most effective aspects of the training was the use of breakout rooms during sessions. These collaborative spaces gave us the opportunity to brainstorm, work in teams, and approach challenges with real-life perspectives.
We got to build frameworks, develop solutions, and most importantly, understand the mindset needed to approach complex problems, something I now use regularly in my current role. Looking back, the training was more than just a learning experience; it was a strong foundation that prepared me for the practical demands of the industry.”
> On the skills he learned
“It really built my confidence and helped me take on challenges now that I’m working on-site as an Associate Specialist in Product Operations for Payment Services.
It’s exciting that there are things I learned during training that I’m using now. I was trained for a software development role, but I’m now working in product operations, so it’s a bit of a different path but I still gained all the relevant skills.
During the training, the foundational knowledge we received has been very helpful in my current role. I work with helping customers and merchants with integrations, and that foundational knowledge has supported me a lot. The training has really helped me.”

> A typical day in his role
“A typical day for me involves going to the office and reporting to my manager. We usually have regular discussions around ongoing and upcoming projects, where we share updates on progress or any blockers, so that the team can support each other effectively.
After that, we often have major calls with clients, which is one of the most exciting aspects of my role. I’m part of the Global Customer Success team, where we support merchants from all over the world including regions like South Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
I’m involved in several projects that allow me to interact directly with these clients. It’s truly exciting to connect with people from such diverse cultures and countries. Day-to-day, my work includes helping merchants with their integrations, addressing configuration issues, solving errors, and responding to their queries.
I’m also involved in solutions testing, where we thoroughly test new features across various integration methods to ensure everything runs smoothly and meets compliance requirements. It’s incredibly exciting to be part of such a globally distributed team, with members spread across India, Dublin, and Dubai.
I feel genuinely glad and grateful to have gained such valuable global exposure at an early stage in my career. It's both motivating and fulfilling.”
> On training and working with peers
“One thing I can’t forget to mention is that during my training, a few like-minded peers I trained with are now my colleagues. Building that connection with like-minded people really keeps you motivated.
We always push each other to be better in our work. There are a lot of mthree alumni working here at the client site office, and they’ve been incredibly supportive especially during my onboarding.
They helped me get familiar with processes like raising access requests and were always there to clear up any confusion I had about the work. The mthree team has also been extremely hands-on and supportive throughout the journey. They’ve always been just a message away whenever I needed guidance or help.”
> Looking to the future
“I always wanted to work in the fintech space, and this opportunity truly felt like a step in the right direction. Everything aligned well, and it gave me a strong sense of satisfaction and opened doors to opportunities for growth and success.
My goal right now is to add value to my team and ensure that whatever I work on, I give it my best. I also want to grow personally, adapt to new challenges, and stay in tune with emerging trends and technologies.
When I completed six months in my role, I had a review with my manager where he acknowledged and appreciated the depth I bring to my work that I don’t just stop at the surface, but always try to look deeper. That was a proud and encouraging moment for me.
The learning curve over the past few months has been steep. I've gained hands-on experience and exposure to real-world systems like Hosted solutions, 3DS, Tokenization, Payment card industry data security standards and regulations, and merchant cloud solutions.
I’ve learned how things operate at scale within the payments industry and how even small efforts can collectively contribute to impactful outcomes. At first, it took me some time to figure things out, but gradually, I gained confidence.
I feel I’ve started to build trust among my peers and colleagues, and my contributions are being recognized. My manager now includes me in projects that push me to take more ownership and continue growing.
Looking ahead, my goal is to keep up this momentum to continue learning, evolving, and excelling in this field while adapting to the dynamic nature of the technology landscape.”
> His advice for future Alumni
“Make the most of the training and treat it as more than just a learning phase. Use it as a space to experiment, to make mistakes, and to ask questions without hesitation. Try to work on real-life use cases and think practically: ‘How is this used in the real world?’ Building solutions with real-world scenarios in mind not only makes your learning more effective but also boosts your confidence.
When you're faced with a big challenge, don’t try to tackle it all at once. Break it down into smaller, manageable parts. Solve one small problem at a time, and before you know it, you've overcome something much larger.
Those small wins may seem insignificant at first, but they add up and that momentum is what leads to real growth. Also, don’t be afraid to revisit the basics. Sometimes, revisiting fundamental concepts with a more mature perspective can unlock deeper understanding.
And finally, stay curious not just about technology, but about how things work at a systems level: Why is something built the way it is? Who does it impact? Thinking in this way will set you apart.
