mthree, a talent and training partner which helps employers build job-ready teams with the most in-demand skills has appointed Christian Bathews to the newly created position of government lead. The strategic senior appointment marks mthree’s expansion into the Public Sector after successfully being awarded a place on Lot 3 of G-Cloud 14. The new role reflects the company’s emphasis on delivering trained talent and upskilling programmes at a time when digital transformation is set to play a central role in the Public Sector’s future.

Christian brings 25 years of experience in roles supporting the Public Sector, including recruitment, digital transformation, and government consultancy roles at both public organisations and private businesses. His work has included consultancy for Central and Local Government including HMRC, WCC Westminster City Council and some of the UK’s largest NHS trusts.

In his new role, Christian will establish and develop relationships with government organisations. This will include augmenting mthree’s emerging, reskill, and expert talent offerings to meet the needs of Central and Local Government. He will also be working with the team leading talent advisory across critical areas such as AI upskilling and its effective utilisation. Additionally, he will focus on leveraging data as a valuable asset to address key governance challenges.

Speaking about his appointment, Christian said:

“It’s great to be joining mthree at such a pivotal moment for the Public Sector. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how the right mix of skills and technology can transform public services, helping organisations deliver more effectively for citizens. I’m keen to bring that insight to mthree and expand our reach in the Public Sector.

“From my early conversations with the team, it was clear that mthree is serious about bridging the skills gap to build high-performing teams. I believe that all of the offerings that mthree provides to some of the world’s largest Private Sector Cooperations are also needed across the Government Landscape. My ambition is to deliver collaborative, forward-looking strategies that deliver real results for Central and Local Government clients. By connecting them with the right people and providing tailored training programmes, I’m confident we can create a positive, lasting impact.”

Alex Headley, CEO at mthree, commented:

“Christian’s appointment comes at a crucial time in mthree’s journey. Through our decade of work with major banking and technology clients, we understand the value of a skilled technical workforce and can see a clear opportunity for the Public Sector to benefit from this."

“Through our new offering, we want to help government organisations not only solve today’s hiring and skills challenges but also help them prepare for tomorrow. By investing in a leader who truly understands the Public Sector, its culture, and its needs, we will be well-placed to develop meaningful partnerships with Central and Local Government organisations.”

Christian’s appointment underscores mthree’s commitment to meeting the growing demands of Public Sector organisations for innovative workforce solutions, while also demonstrating the company’s broader ambition to extend its role as a trusted partner across both private and Public Sectors.
